My Top 5 iPhone Apps of 2008

There are thousands of applications available on the iTunes App Store and it is quite difficult to select just a handful as your top applications. However, for purposes of this blog entry, I have selected my top 5 apps for 2008.

1. Tweetie (US$2.99) - this Twitter client is one of the simplest, but powerful available out there. One feature that stands out is support for multiple accounts - no need to logout and login just to send a tweet using another account.

2. Zenbe List (US$2.99) - a list manager. Its sync with its web application feature just makes it easy for me and my wife to organize our shopping lists. Another thing, it works even while you are offline.

3. Facebook (Free) - need I say more? This one is probably the best Facebook client available on a mobile device.

4. BeejiveIM (US$12.99 - on sale) - a multi-IM client.

5. WiFiTrak (US$0.99) - a hotspot scanner. This one scans your area for wifi hotspots and lists them with indicators as to where the hotspot is open or not, what type of encryption, along with the channel and signal strength. You can even connect to the hotspot by just selecting it from this app.

So there you have it, what are your top 5 iPhone/iPod Touch applications of 2008?
